After months of development, I am happy to report that I have concocted a formula for my permanent soap collection! It creates the loveliest creamy lather, rises cleanly, silky to the touch, and leaves skin feeling cleansed and relaxed. After trying out several recipes and several fragrances of each iteration, I've finally decided this one is worthy of being a Signature Formula.
What's so special about it? I use all natural oils that are processed as little as possible. Olive oil, coconut oil, rice bran oil, avocado oil, and castor oil to name a few. The formula is heavier in what are called "soft oils" that means they don't turn into a completely rock hard bar of soap, making it more pleasant in my opinion. This helps with the luxurious, softer feel against skin in application and afterwards. The formula contains a higher percentage of oils that have not turned into soap as well, resulting in the extra moisture left behind yet still having cleansed you fully. Kind of like a mini soap-and-lotion 2-in-1 type deal. To top it all off, the final ingredients naturally enhance the properties of the oils. No nonsense, no artificial preservatives, no added chemical salts.
Thankfully none of my experimental attempts resulted in burns, explosions, or a seemingly fundamental failure that would make it hard to work with. They just didn't live up to what I wanted from all of my hard work. I had some that were too soft and never hardened up, weren't bubbly enough, and some that distorted fragrances so badly they were unrecognizable and ultimately resulted in an unreliable formula. Luckily my family and friends were more than happy to help me test along the way (and use up soap batches that didn't meet my standards to sell).
