The time has come to come to terms with the idea that I have plenty of mishaps and half completed items in the shop that are just zapping my energy and causing a fair amount of creative guilt each day they continue to sit, unlisted, incomplete, and/or otherwise subpar. These items are perfectly useable but have minor flaws. If you're looking for a deal, this is the place!

This time around, we have:

40000 Leagues Sea Salt Specialty Soap
Reason in Seconds: Milk fat addition caused poor curing ability and will remain mushy for its life.
Highly recommend to crumble 1/6 - 1/5 of it into a bath for a sea salt and milk bath soak. This crumbly bar uses the base of the Luxury Moisture Recipe used in the Signature Collection soaps, as well as poppy seeds, sea salt, spa salts, epsom salts, walnut shells, and buttermilk powder.

Painted the Roses Red
Reason in Seconds: Texture of liquid soap thickened so quickly that it wasn't able to fill the rose cavity molds correctly.
Floral fragrances can get chunky really quickly, and oh boy did this one top that list. It is a wonderful scent that I would hate to see get wasted. On the outside, it is painted with burgundy pigment and indigo powder for the leaves; the inside is a beautiful soft pink color.

Gardenia Cupcakes
Reason in Seconds: Inconsistent with most of the batch or runts
These cupcakes were some of my favorites to make from last winter (and they still have their scent!). While hitting my stride to create topiary like cupcakes, these few took the brunt of any consistencies. There are also some that are "scrap" like but are perfectly useable all the same.

Chocolate Strawberry Cupcakes
Reason in Seconds: Inconsistent with most of the batch or runts
Again with cupcakes! I have one left that is REALLY oval shaped from the top view, but looks just fine from the side. I'd've hated for someone to pick this one at a show for it to only be ideally cupcake shaped from two angles, not all of the way around. It's big, fully dressed, but lopsided. Then, I have two scrap cupcake bases that are scented with a delectable sweet cocoa scent - one with a dollop of strawberry, the other without.

Face Mask Pearls
Reason in Seconds: Failed attempt at new packaging
These are exactly perfect except the packaging is too fussy to keep as a standard one. The face mask pearls inside the vials are 2g each, just like the normal plastic pot ones are weighed out. What a shame these didn't work out since these little glass twist top vials are wonderful, but hard to get the face mask pearls out of. I'd recommend using a toothpick to smush a pearl into a few pieces and tip it out gently, then go ahead and use as usual by adding as much water as desired. The pearls look a bit crackley, but it's just a touch of extra kaolin clay that I used to get the pearls in... then realized the same addition won't help them on the way out! Argh.
